Parsons Pleads Guilty, Free to Coach Saturday

Perry Lakes Hawks Head Coach, Matt Parsons, faced the BWA Tribunal on Tuesday night after being placed on report following the Hawks 99-98 loss to the Lakeside Lightning on Saturday night.

Parsons pleaded guilty to using obscene language towards the officials and was found guilty by the Tribunal for actions likely to bring the game into disrepute.

The Tribunal handed down an 8 week suspended sentence which will continue until the end of the 2018 SBL Grand Final.

Should Parsons be found guilty by a tribunal in this time, he will serve an 8 week suspension on top of whatever penalties are handed down.

Parsons, the reigning two time John Gardiner MSBL Coach of the Year, will be relieved he can lead his troops in Geraldton on Saturday night against the Buccaneers, where a win will guarantee a playoff spot for the Hawks.

Should the Hawks lose on Saturday night, they could be bundled out of eighth position should the Rockingham Flames defeat the Goldfields Giants in Kalgoorlie.
