THE Round Two Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Sami Whitcomb of the Willetton Tigers.
Sami Whitcomb is making the most of her four-game contract with the Willetton Tigers, as she has backed up her Round One POTW with yet another incredible performance Sunday vs the Stirling Senators.
Whitcomb poured in an astounding 43 points on 53% shooting, as well as going 5/10 from beyond the arc. She added 10 rebounds and 6 assists, playing in all but 2 minutes of the game.
With the scores tied at 34-34 at the main break Whitcomb found another gear, scoring 18 points in the 3rd quarter and single-handedly outscoring the Senators for the period. That was enough to give the Tigers a comfortable buffer which they maintained through the fourth, winning 85-71.
The Tigers (2-0) will be at home for the first time this season, hosting the South West Slammers (0-2) this Thursday before the SBL Easter break.
