THE Round Seven Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Maddie Allen of the Latitude 32 Rockingham Flames.
After weeks of solid performances, Maddie Allen has earnt herself a much deserved POTW following the Rockingham Flames victory over the Joondalup Wolves 81-67.
Allen provided her team 21 points, 13 rebounds and the only 4 blocks of the whole game. She shot the ball well at 53%, and was able to get to the line 12 times. Both the rebounds and blocks were season highs for Allen, as she attempts to fill to void left by Round 6 POTW teammate Darcee Garbin.
She now ranks in the Top 10 for Rebounding in the WSBL, and ties the lead for Blocks per game with Lakeside’s Ash Grant.
Rockingham are now riding a 3-game win streak, which could very well extend with the services of import D’Lesha Lloyd obtained, and another import spot pending. It will be battle of the mid-season acquisitions this week as the Flames and Tigers do battle in one of the WSBL’s recent rivalries, this Saturday at Willetton Basketball Stadium.
