THE Round Three Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Sami Whitcomb of the Willetton Tigers.

Sami Whitcomb has completed a ‘three-peat’ of Player of the Week’s, showing off her WNBA prowess in a 100-80 victory against the South West Slammers.

Whitcomb delivered possibly her best performance of the season, scoring 37 points on 69% shooting, while adding 19 rebounds, 10 assists to achieve a triple-double. Whitcomb was active on both ends of the floor, with 8 offensive rebounds, 11 defensive rebounds and 2 steals.

Trailing by 7 points at the half, Whitcomb put in another amazing 3^rd quarter performance, this time scoring or assisting on 17 of the Tigers’ 31 third-quarter points. A huge second half from Willetton secured the win, outscoring their opponents 58-31.

With the win, the Tigers remain undefeated and improve to 3-0, setting up a tantalising match-up against the Mandurah Magic this Sunday. Willetton, Mandurah, Cockburn and Lakeside remain the only teams in the WSBL without a loss to their name through 3 rounds in 2018.
