Round 2 Men’s West Coast Classic Preview

TAKE a look through the match ups in Round 2 of the West Coast Classic and it’s hard for the mouth not to water, but without doubt the SBL Grand Final rematch on Sunday takes the cake.

It doesn’t take long for the basketball to begin to take shape and every match to take on great meaning once a new season starts, and that is no doubt now taking place in the West Coast Classic after the Round 1 action.

Already the Goldfields Giants and Kalamunda Eastern Suns meet in almost a must-win game on Saturday after losing twice in the opening round while the Mandurah Magic are another who can’t afford to keep losing.

There are plenty of exciting match ups right across the weekend with Round 2 getting underway on Friday night with the South West Slammers hosting the Rockingham Flames at Eaton Recreation Centre.

The Perth Redbacks are also at home to the Cockburn Cougars at Belmont Oasis with the Willetton Tigers also facing the Mandurah Magic at Willetton Basketball Stadium, and the Lakeside Lightning taking on the Perry Lakes Hawks at Lakeside Recreation Centre.

Then on Saturday night it all gets underway with that Goldfields Giants-Kalamunda Eastern Suns match up at Kalgoorlie’s Niels Hansen Basketball Stadium.

The Geraldton Buccaneers remain on the road to take on the Rockingham Flames at Mike Barnett Sports Complex with the Mandurah Magic also hosting the East Perth Eagles at Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre.

The Warwick Senators are then back home to host the South West Slammers at Warwick Stadium with the Cockburn Cougars playing the Joondalup Wolves at Wally Hagan Stadium, and the Perry Lakes Hawks facing the Perth Redbacks at Bendat Basketball Centre.

The round then concludes on Sunday at HBF Arena in an SBL Grand Final rematch last year between the Joondalup Wolves and Geraldton Buccaneers.
