This Saturday night is not only the Senators’ final home match against the Perry Lakes Hawks, but it is also a special night where we will be recognising one of the club’s greatest all-time players, Carmie Olowoyo.
On July 28th, we are going to be recognising Carmie & retiring his jersey, number 42, prior to the Men’s game commencing – 8pm tip off.
Carmie’s impact in the club saw him play over 250 games in a Senators uniform while putting on the red and black for the Perth Wildcats, appearing in over 70 games. Carmie’s career in the SBL started in 1995 & finished with the club in 2010 – having a break for a few years while playing at college in the United States.
In Olowoyo’s time with the Stirling Senators Basketball club, he is one of the all-time leaders in points scored, rebounds & games played, with a career average of 21 points & 6 boards & 2 assists per game.
As a club, we are committed to the impact players have off the court & Carmie has been and continues to use his knowledge in the areas of coaching (both professionally as well as within the sport of basketball) to make a difference in the lives of others.
Join with us as we recognise Carmie & his commitment to basketball, to the Senators & to the community this Saturday night at Warwick Stadium.
